I love their coffee- I wanted a big tub of great coffee to sip throughout the day and I got a Large Hazelnut Latte with an extra shot of espresso and oh boy was it good! Really cute cafe, I’d love to come here and work and chill by myself if I ever want to! ”

“ KRANKY is a cozy cafe with a balmy vibe. Perfectly situated on the quiet arm of 4th Ave., surrounded by artist studios in Mt. Pleasant. Beverages are prepared with great care and delivered with a smile. Highly recommend their double chocolate chip cookie. ”

“ Just a little hidden gem. This place shows up all the time as a suggestion when I am looking to explore my neighborhood. I think I would like to come in the morning and sit with friends outside. I so wanted to try your Jamaican patties but I was rushed for time today. The staff were very pleasant and even brought everything to our table. It was a very nice change. We will be back. For some snacks and dessert for sure. I'm a sweet and savory person. Oh and the coffee was yummy ”

“ A great local spot, slightly off the beaten path. Coffee and teas are great. The food I have tried is great, too. They have some great service staff, quick, polite, and warm. I love the little touches around the small shop. Photos of dog visitors is a great reason to keep coming back. They have a human accessible jar of treats inside the door for you to grab for your pooch. Lots of cute merch too! Well worth the visit. ”

“ Despite the name, Kranky Cafe is staffed by the nicest, most pleasant people you will find anywhere. The environment they've created here is everything you could want from a community cafe. As wonderful as the people are, I wouldn't be coming back over and over again if the food wasn't equally as wonderful, but it absolutely is. Their baked goods are homemade and it's very evident in the quality - everything tastes so wholesome! The sandwiches and wraps are great - the Big Veg sandwich, my favourite, is a killer vegan option. And they make good drinks too. The espresso drinks are pretty standard but brewed strong (but not TOO strong), and I think all the tea drinks (including the tea lattes and just straight-up tea) are excellent. They offer a lot of variety in the menu. It's not a vegan cafe (there are plenty of meat options) but there are some very good options for vegans: an assortment of vegan baked goods and two vegan sandwiches. They whip up new things from time to time. It's pretty small inside but they have a lot of patio space for when the weather's decent. They have blankets you can use to keep warm. It’s colourful and cozy inside and the patio has a rustic garden feel. ”

We were a little worried that the vegan options would be limited but after a look at the cabinet and through the menu there were a few savoury and sweet vegan options. - Jamaican pattie (kinda like a mini pastie) - nice, could use a bit more flavour though, maybe serve with a mango salsa or something? - Vegan muffin - really tasty with yummy, melty cheese. - Oat flat white - small cups but nice coffee - Berry bar, sooooo good! For other items you could possibly swap out dairy cheese for vegan cheese for a couple of dollars, just not possible in the wrap. Definitely a nice cosy spot, with limited inside seating and a good amount of outside seating, and they're pet friendly :) ”

“ Cutest little neighborhood cafe! Really cosy good vibes, great coffee and abundance of sandwiches and baked goods. I came here a while back and the service originally wasn’t the best but management made some changes and all the staff are incredibly friendly and sweet. This is my regular stop. ”
